amazing, genuine gypsy tassel pendant on a long string of turquoise beads
This pendant was made by the nomadic Kuchi people in Afghanistan. The material is "gillet" metal, which is about three-fourths brass, mixed with copper, silver, iron, or all three. The surface is buffed with a thick silver plating that is very durable. The glass stones were set with beeswax originally, but some may have been replaced at some point over the years using jeweler's glue.
This necklace is 32 inches in length and hangs almost to the waist. Wear it long, wrap it twice, or layer with other necklaces for a wild bohemian look. Long turquoise tassel necklace.
